Installing a Door Handle

Installing a door handle is usually straightforward when the existing lock and mounting holes are suitable for the new hardware. Beforehand, check if the dimensions of the new door hardware match the door and the existing lock.

Step 1: Remove the old door hardware and clean the door around the lock.

Step 2: Check if the handle hole and mounting holes are in the correct position for the new hardware.

Step 3: Insert the square spindle through the lock in the door. Then slide the door handles onto the spindle from both sides.

Step 4: Place the roses or backplates in the correct position against the door. Check that everything is straight before tightening the fasteners.

Step 5: Tighten the mounting screws evenly. Do not apply too much force to prevent damage to the hardware or the door.

Step 6: Test the door handle several times. Check that the handle moves smoothly, the lock operates correctly, and the handle springs back neatly after use.

Tip: After installation, check that all parts are securely fastened. A door handle that is crooked or has play can often be easily corrected by realigning the fasteners.
