How to determine the correct PC size?

The PC size is the distance between the center of the handle hole and the center of the cylinder hole. This measurement is important when you want to install new door hardware on an existing door. The hardware must match the position of the existing lock.

Step 1: Look at the existing door hardware and determine the center of the handle hole.

Step 2: Then determine the center of the cylinder hole. This is the opening through which the profile cylinder sits.

Step 3: Measure the distance between both centers. Always measure center-to-center and not from the edges of the openings.

Step 4: The measured distance in millimeters is the PC size. Common sizes are PC55 and PC72. For PC55, the distance between the handle hole and cylinder hole is 55 mm; for PC72, it is 72 mm.

Step 5: Are you only replacing the door hardware and keeping the existing lock? Then choose hardware with the same PC size as the lock. This ensures that the openings of the new hardware align well.

Please note: measure accurately. A difference of a few millimeters can cause the new hardware not to fit properly on the existing lock.
