Mounting on Different Fronts

Not every furniture front reacts the same to mounting a furniture handle. Particleboard, MDF, and solid wood each have their own properties. With proper preparation, you can prevent damage and ensure the handle remains firmly attached.

Step 1: Determine the Position

Carefully measure where the handle should go and mark the drill holes. For multiple doors or drawers, always use the same distance to ensure a neat appearance.

Step 2: Check the Material

For particleboard, it's important to drill neatly, as the top layer and core can be damaged. MDF is more compact and generally easy to drill. Solid wood can be harder depending on the wood type and therefore requires a suitable drill bit.

Step 3: Drill the Holes

Use a sharp drill bit and drill calmly through the front. For thin or delicate fronts, place a piece of wood behind the drill point to prevent splintering on the back.

Step 4: Mount the Handle

Insert the screws from the back and tighten the handle evenly. Do not overtighten: especially MDF and particleboard can be damaged if the screw is tightened too much.
