The SL56 mortise lock is the standard choice for bedrooms or storage rooms where simple locking is desired. The lock operates with a traditional skeleton key. We supply 2 keys with this type of lock. With a simple turn, you extend the deadbolt, immediately securing the room from the rest of the house.
Standardized Dimensions and Warm Finish
With a backset of 56 mm, this mortise lock fits most standard interior doors. We advise you to always measure this carefully beforehand. Also, always choose matching SL56 door hardware to ensure a good fit. Or choose door roses in combination with separate door handles; then it always fits! The bronze faceplate gives the lock a classic yet industrial look. This means the lock is not only functional but also visibly contributes to the finish of the entire door leaf.
Included Strikes and Wear Instruction
With this mortise lock, you receive two types of strikes in bronze and stainless steel. The bronze-colored version matches nicely with the faceplate and door handles but is not entirely scratch-resistant due to the mechanical action of the latch bolt. For a long-lasting sleek look without visible wear, we recommend installing the stainless steel strike.
